PM urges IFS officers to develop deep understanding of other countries

Prime Minister Modi urged young officers to develop deep understanding of the countries of their posting.

64 Officer Trainees of the 2014 and 2015 Batches of the Indian Foreign Service called on the Prime Minister on Tuesday.

Prime Minister encouraged the young officers to work towards fostering closer relations between India and the outside world and developing deeper understanding of the country of their posting.

He also encouraged them to link the Indian states with the outside world in the spirit of cooperative federalism, promote greater people to people & cultural contacts and strengthen trade, investments and technology ties.

PM also urged to accord greater attention to secure the interests and look after the welfare of the Indians abroad.
