The Centre today moved the Supreme Court against the Uttarakhand High Court verdict quashing President’s rule in the state.

The matter has been listed for hearing later this afternoon before an SC bench headed by Justice Dipak Misra.

As per reports, a bench headed by Justice Misra was sitting in the CJI’s court as the CJI was at a scheduled conference of High Court Chief Justices and judges in the national capital.

As per reports, the AG argued that there was a need for an urgent hearing in view of the apparent problem likely to occur between today and Monday.

Nine rebel Congress MLAs also filed an appeal in the Supreme Court against Uttarakhand High Court’s decision barring them from participating in floor test on the 29th of this month.
