Details of affidavit not known now
Former chief minister of Maharashtra Vilasrao Deshmukh filed his affidavit today before the Adarsh inquiry commission. In his 15 pages affidavit, submitted before the bench headed by Justice (retd) J A Patil, Deshmukh said that the plot on which the controversial Adarsh Housing Society now stands belongs to State Government. He said that the plot was never reserved for Kargil war heroes.
Deshmukh, who was then chief minister and also held the urban development department portfolio, had dealt with files pertaining to the high rise Adarsh Housing Society in upscale Colaba. Further in his affidavit, Deshmukh said approval given to Adarsh Housing Society was a collective decision of the whole ministry. He added that he relied upon his secretaries and officers while dealing with the files related to Adarsh.

With regards to de-reservation of the controversial Adarsh plot into 'residential' from 'BEST depot land', Deshmukh said the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply & Transport Undertaking (BEST) land issue was dealt with legal procedure and allotment of land was done by revenue department and collectorate.
Earlier, former principal secretary Ramanand Tiwari in his affidavit had said that approvals for the Adarsh building had been given by Deshmukh.
