Uproar in both the houses over price rise and IPL issues

Proceedings disrupted in both houses
The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned on the second day of the week for most of the time as the agitated opposition rushed to the well in both Houses and raised slogans pressing for their demands. After repeated adjournments, the Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the day and the Lok Sabha till 6 pm.
In Lok Sabha, the Leader of the Opposition, Sushma Swaraj said that the government is trying not to be accountable even as the involvement of two senior central ministers in the IPL controversy is being alleged.
Sushma Swaraj said that the Leader of the House, Pranab Mukherjee had assured that he will convey the sentiments of the house to the Prime Minister and get back to the house on the demand.
She said that however, the media reports are saying that Dr. Manmohan Singh has rejected the demand.
She said that this is an insult to this august house. Several other opposition members were also up on their feet carrying placards against hike in the prices of essential commodities and were shouting slogans. Some of them including the RJD Chief, Mr. Lalu Prasad, trooped into the well of the house.
When the House reassembled at 12.00, the members from the RJD, SP and the Left raised their pitch over the price rise issue. And many of them even reached into the well of the House. As the unrelenting members continued sloganeering, the House was adjourned till 6.00 p.m. In the Rajya Sabha, trouble started from the word go.
The entire opposition was up on its feet as soon as the house met for the day, raising pitch over the IPL and Price rise issues.
The Chairman, Mohammed Hamid Ansari, adjourned the house after the opposition uproar continued. There was no change in the situation when the House met again leading to its adjournment for the day.
