Rate hiked by 12.5%
In Uttar Pradesh, NOIDA, Greater NOIDA and Yamuna Expressway Authority have hiked the land compensation rates by 12.5 per cent. The decision to this effect was taken in the meeting of NOIDA, Greater NOIDA and Yamuna Expressway Authorities board at Greater NOIDA in Gautam Buddha Nagar district on Monday.

Board Chairman Mohinder Singh said that to compensate the loss, the authorities have also hiked their land allotment rates too by 12.5 percent.

AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that decision has been taken following farmer’s unrest over land acquisition and compensation in the recent past.

In the recent clashes between farmers and the police at Bhatta-Parsaul villages four persons lost their lives. All major political parties and National Women Commission have demanded impartial probe into the incidents.

The Board has also given its approval to four new metro rail projects.

New enhanced rates of compensation will be effective from the last month of April. Farmers from Gautam Buddha Nagar to Agra district will be benefited with enhancement.

Due to increase into the rates of land allotment by the NOIDA and Greater NOIDA now prices of land per squire meter will be 17 thousand 820 to 49 thousand. Similarly minimum rates for biding of commercial plots will be 25 thousand 245 rupees per squire meter.

Authorities are facing farmer’s unrest over land acquisition and compensation from a long time in these areas. It is not yet clear whether new rates will acceptable to farmers or not. Several areas of the authorities have seen farmers' agitation on the issue.

Meanwhile a lower court in Gautam Buddha Nagar district has rejected bail applications of 22 farmers arrested during police farmers clash at Bhatta Parasol villages recently. Court has extended their judicial remand for more 14 days.
