The new Companies Bill would be discussed in next cabinet: Salman Khurshid
Government is likely to bring in more stringent rules and regulations for the companies after the Satyam saga. New corporate affairs minister Salman Khurshid said The Companies Bill, 2008, introduced in the Lok Sabha last year, now stands lapsed and has to be re-introduced in Parliament.
Khurshid said the cabinet will take up the new Companies Bill in its next meeting and if it is approved it will be tabled in the upcoming Budget session of Parliament, incorporating more checks and balances in the light of the Satyam debacle.
He said no substantial change in the Bill would be made at this juncture and all the changes necessary will be incorporated only after the Bill is introduced in Parliament.
