Jaguar and Land Rover to hit the Indian Market

Tata Motors has finally decided to bring two top brands in India which it acquired last year. Iconic brands like Jaguar and Land Rover would begin selling its range of premium performance saloon cars and sports utility vehicles in the Indian market later this year.

The range would include some of very famous vehicles like Jaguar's XF and XKR and Land Rover's Discovery and Range Rover. These are known as top luxury brands world over.

David Smith, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover, said: "We are delighted to be formally entering the Indian market, an economy which is still growing appreciably, and able to offer our premium products to a whole new group of customers. It is an important strategic move for Jaguar Land Rover and will enable us to realise our competitive potential in this significant market."

Tata Motors has created a new premier car division, within the company's passenger car business unit. The new division is given responsibility for the distribution fall Jaguars and Land Rovers. The first showroom is set to open at Ceejay House in Worli, Mumbai, in June this year.

Managing Director of Tata Motors Ravi Kant said, "This is a natural move for both businesses and will allow Jaguar and Land Rover to establish a strong presence in India. It will provide an opportunity to Indian customers to access these premium products for the first time in the country."

Rohit Suri will head the new division.
