Union health ministry has informed that more than 200 people have died of Swine Flu in the country till 15th September. The ministry said in a statement that countrywide death toll has reached 201 on Tuesday.
Maharashtra is still the worst affected state from the disease with 87 deaths till September 15. Karnataka accounts for 66 deaths while Gujarat has also suffered 18 deaths due to H1N1 virus.
In national capital Delhi 6 people have died of Swine Flu so far and in Andhra Pradesh 10 people have lost their lives due to H1N1 Influenza.
A health official informed that 8 people have died of Swine Flu in country due to the Flu on Tuesday. The highest 5 deaths are reported from Maharashtra.
229 new confirmed cases have been reported from across the country on Tuesday.
In order to contain the pandemic spreading into other parts of the country the government has allowed limited retail sale of Tamiflu. The government is apprehensive that the crisis may become acute as winter sets in few weeks time.
