Sugar Price issue rocks both houses of Parliament, Govt. calls all party meet on Monday

Manmohan Singh government has called an all party meet on Monday to discuss the sugarcane pricing policy to find a solution.

The Leader of the house in the Lok Sabha and Finance Minister Mr Pranab Mukherjee has invited the floor leaders for the meeting after a key Congress ally DMK also joined the opposition parties in the protest against the policy.

The Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal told reporters after the Business Advisory Committee meeting of the Lok Sabha that the government is open for discussion on all issues.

Meanwhile the Business Advisory Committee of the Rajya Sabha has decided to take up for discussion a number of issues including sugarcane, price rise and disinvestment in the first seven sittings of the current session.
