Sudhir Bhalla has taken over as Director Human Resource of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. Prior to his elevation to the Board of Directors, he was Executive Director (HR) of IndianOil's Refineries Division. Bhalla has over three decades of experience in HR at IndianOil and has handled the entire gamut of activities in the HR function.

Acknowledged widely for his 'People First, Business Follows' approach of mentoring people for leadership positions, Bhalla has driven several innovative schemes that have helped in preparing IndianOil for the next level.

IndianOil, which was known as a downstream petroleum refining and marketing company, is now transforming into a diversified entity with a strong presence in Petrochemicals, Gas Marketing, Exploration and Production as well as foreign markets like Sri Lanka, Mauritius and UAE.

An Honours Graduate from Delhi University with a LLB (Labour Laws) and a Masters in Social Work, Bhalla played a vital role in the integration of BRPL into IndianOil besides a cross-refinery productivity enhancement exercise which helped in transforming quality standards.

Mr. Bhalla had also undergone several prestigious General Management programmes abroad.

Indian Oil said in a statement, "His appointment as the head of the HR function comes at a time when the contours of the company's business portfolio are evolving and his management acumen and humane approach is expected to bring about a new outlook and paradigm to the HR function of the Corporation."
