Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam's Q3 income up by 7%

Net income up by 7%
The net sales/income from operations of the public sector Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited for the quarter ending 31st December 2010 has increased to Rs 39,641 lakh against Rs. 36,989 lakh achieved during the corresponding quarter of last year, thus registering an increase of more than (7%) seven percent.

The net profit for the quarter has also increased to Rs. 19,150 lakh against Rs.18,546 lakh recorded during the corresponding quarter of last year. The financial results were declared at the Company's Board Meetings held at New Delhi on Feb. 2, 2011.

The power generation at company's flagship, 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station also registered an increase of 70 MU at 6402 MU during the period April to December 2010 against 6332 MU recorded in the corresponding period of last year. The generation achieved during the period is 276 MU more than the MoU targets given by the Ministry of Power.

After establishing a milestone of 7019 MU power generation during 2009-10, the country's largest 1500MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station is heading for another record generation during the current financial year.

The power station has already generated 6665 MU of electricity till Feb. 2, 2011 which is 333 MU more than the MoU target.
