Will not give RS seat: Amar Singh
Reacting to this development, power broker turned politician Amar Singh said itटs a boon for him and he will not relinquish his Rajya Sabha membership.
The decision was never meant to be an easy one for SP leader Mulayam Singh. However, after crossing the path with his powerful cousin Ram Gopal Yadav, Amar Singh's days were numbered in the party.
Media reports say that the decision was taken by the party's parliamentary board in a meeting in Lucknow on Tuesday. SP Supremo Mulayam Singh headed the meeting.
The party's new national general secretary and official spokesperson, Mohan Singh said that the duo were expelled for 'anti party activities' and denting the party's 'socialist' image.
Jaya Prada stood by Amar Singh
Mohan Singh was appointed the party's official spokesperson following Amar Singh's resignation from all party posts,
Media reported that the party also suspended four MLAs loyal to Amar Singh. They are Ashok Chandel, Madan Chauhan, Sarvesh Singh and Sandeep Agarwal.
Mohan Singh told the media in Lucknow that on January 31, Lok Sabha member Jaya Prada made some 'indecent comments' against party leadership in a press conference, which the party viewed very seriously.
Do you think that in today's highly fractured and competitive politics the Parliament will, in near future, be able to function properly and constructively?
