Allegations fly between ruling coalition and opposition
In Bihar Assembly, history of sorts was created on Tuesday when members of both opposition and ruling party assaulted each other and hurled chairs during the post lunch session leading to adjournment of the house till Wednesday.
The pre-lunch session of the house had earlier been adjourned without taking up the question hour as opposition members stalled the proceedings demanding resignation of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over the issue of illegal withdrawal of over Eleven thousand four hundred crore rupees from treasuries across the state.
Local media reported that a free for all scene was witnessed in the house, as opposition and ruling party members came to blows, turned the table of the official reporters and threw chairs at the each other.
Reports claim that at least a dozen members received minor injuries. The situation took an ugly turn when a few opposition members who were raising slogans against the Chief Minister snatched papers from two ruling party members.
Taking a serious note of unruly behavior by the opposition members, the Chief Minister signaled ruling party members to give a befitting reply to their opposition counterparts.
In the midst of the melee, two ministers Giriraj Singh and Gautam Singh were seen pressing the top of the uprooted reporters table towards the main opposition RJD enclosure.
