The Chandigarh administration has initiated action against the school principal Sister Sebastina following a magisterial inquiry on this issue. The administration has made the inquiry report public on Thursday.

The education department has asked Sister Sebastina to return the medal, merit certificate and cash prize awarded to her in 2005 for her meritorious work in the field of education.

In her report SDM Prerna Puri stated that Ruchika was the only student expelled for the non payment of fees in the entire history of the school.

The SDM also cited some examples where students have not been expelled in spite of non payment of the fees in the same academic session.

However, in a surprising development, Father Thomas, the spokesperson of Shimla based society that runs the Sacred Heart School has rejected the recommendations of inquiry report against Sister Sebastina.

He said that Diocese will take no action against Principal Sister Sebastina as she has not done anything wrong.

Chandigarh Home secretary Ram Niwas told local media that they have based their findings on the school and bank records and given a fair and transparent version. He said it's the moral responsibility of the society which they can choose to shun if they want.
