Driver, Co-Driver responsible for the accident: Railways
India's railway ministry has held driver and co-driver of the Uttorbango Express responsible for the fatal train accident that took place on the Monday morning.
Vivek Sahai, chairman, railway board told reporters in Kolkata on the Monday evening that according to prima facie reports, the driver and co-driver did not use break and not even emergency break. Mr. Sahai said that they did not obey the signaling direction also.
Mr. Sahai said that both the pilots of the Uttarbanga Express were 'A' category driver and had enough experience for the job. Mr. Sahai termed the accident as an unusual in nature. He said that the Railway Safety Commission which will begin inquiry of the whole tragedy will examine every angle of it including act of sabotage.
At least 61 people were killed in this train accident at Sainthia Station in Birbhum district of West Bengal early this morning
