Probe intensifies into Headley's role in Mumbai attacks; Mumbai Police team to visit US

The newly created federal anti terror agency NIA has intensified its probe into the alleged role of suspected American terrorist and LeT operative David Headley and Tahawwur Hussain Rana in the Mumbai terror attacks.
An NIA team conducted raids and searches at several places in south Mumbai and western suburbs of the city on Saturday.
Maharashtra government has also said that a team of Mumbai Police will visit the US to gather more information from American investigation agency about Headley's role in Mumbai attacks.
Mumbai Police is conducting a parallel inquiry into the Headley's terror activities.
Gujarat Police has also confirmed that both Headly and Rana had visited Ahemdabad during their India visits. Kerala Police is also trying to find out the authenticity of the reports that Headley had visited to these two states.
In a related development Mr. Brijlal, ADG, Law and Order Uttar Pradesh police has denied that Headly has ever visited Uttar Pradesh. He said in Lucknow that we have checked this thing and we are sure that he never visited Uttar Pradesh nor even on the pseudo name of Dawood Gilani.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister P Chidambaram refused to share with the media details of the probe on LeT plot to carry out terror attacks in India.
He said, investigations into the Headley case is not a cricket match for which a ball-by-ball description has to be given.
Mr Chidambaram said, detailed information will be given to the media when the investigation is finisted.
