President, Prime Minister greet the nation on Eid-Milad-un-Nabi

Eid-Milad-un-Nabi being celebrated across the country
The Eid-Milad-un-Nabi, the birthday of Prophet Mohammad, is being celebrated throughout the country on Saturday.

Meetings are being held in which the Muslim scholars highlight the various aspects of Hazrat Mohammads' life.

Muslim religious leaders called upon people to follow the teaching of Prophet Mohammad.

A big procession was taken out from Sadar Bazar and Bara Hindu Rao, which culminated at Jama Masjid in Old Delhi.

The President Mrs Pratibha Patil, the Vice-President Mohammed Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh have greeted people on the occasion.

President said that the message of peace and love to humanity preached by Prophet Mohammad inspires all to follow the path of kindness.

Vice President Hamid Mohammad Ansari said in his message that Prophet Mohammad showed mankind the path of compassion, tolerance, love, brotherhood and righteousness.
