Power Finance Corporation to sanction loans worth Rs. 68,000 crore in the next fiscal

State owned Power Finance Corporation on Tuesday said that it would sanction loans to the tune of Rs 68,000 crore in 2010-11.

Satnam Singh, CMD of Power Finance Corporation, said, "Our loan sanction target for the next fiscal (2010-11) is Rs 68,000 crore and disbursement is Rs. 29,000 crore."

The corporation finances power generation, transmission and distribution projects.

In the current financial year the company has sanctioned loans worth Rs. 60,000 crore and loans worth Rs. 20,000 crore have already been disbursed.

"The (financial) year is yet to get over...we would be able to meet our (disbursement) target," Singh said while talking about the disbursal target set by the company at Rs. 23,000 crores.
