Punjab National Bank has been awarded with five prizes i.e. two prizes in RBI Rajbhasha Shield Competition for excellent performance in use of Hindi, one prize in Bilingual House Magazine Competition and two prizes in All India Inter Bank Hindi Essay Competition.
PNB got third prize in Region 'A', fourth prize in Region 'B' in Reserve Bank Rajbhasha Shield Competition and second prize for 'PNB Staff Journal' in Bilingual House Magazine Competition organized by RBI for F.Y. 2009-10.
K. R. Kamath, Chairman & Managing Director received the Shields and Certificates from Dr. D.Subbarao, Governor, RBI in Mumbai.
Besides Om Prakash Gairola, Manager BO: Bhagirathipuram (Dehradun Circle) was awarded second prize for Essay on the subject '21vi Shatabadi Ki Banking' in Language Group 'A' and Sh. Hargovind C. Makwana, Officer, BO: Shola Road, Ahmedabad, Gujarat got second prize on the subject 'Samajik Vikas Mei Banko Ki Bhumika' in Language Group 'B' in All India Hindi Essay Competition 2010-11 organised by RBI. They received the cheques and certificates from Dr. Subbarao, Governor, RBI.
The prize distribution function organised in RBI, Central Office, Mumbai Auditorium was presided over by Dr. K.C. Chakrobarty, Dy. Governor, RBI. Dr. D.Subbarao, Governor, RBI was the Chief Guest. Dr. Gokaran, Dy. Governor, RBI alongwith Chairman & Managing Directors, other Senior Executives and Rajbhasha Heads of various Banks attended the function.
