ONGC bags the Corporate Governance Certificate of Excellence

RS Sharma received the award
ONGC bagged the Corporate Governance Certificate for Excellent Corporate Governance practices at a glittering function organized in New Delhi on Friday by the Institute of Company Secretaries India (ICSI) at its 10th Annual convention.

ONGC was one amongst the top five companies who were recognized for good governance practices.

The prestigious accolade was received by RS Sharma, CMD, ONGC from The Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee. The Company Secretary, ONGC NK Sinha was part of the Team ONGC who participated in the event.

The awards comprising of a citation and trophy are based on the outcome of concerted and comprehensive process of evaluation which enables the jury to judge, the practices of corporate governance as followed by Indian corporate and to exemplify the best practices worthy of being exemplified.

The Institute of Company Secretaries India (ICSI) is committed to promoting good corporate governance and has played a pivotal role in creating awareness on various issues impinging upon corporate governance.

One of the important initiatives of the institute to promote good corporate governance is the ICSI national award for excellence in corporate governance which was instituted in the year 2001 to promote good corporate governance practices amongst the corporate and to recognize those companies worthy of being recognized.
