Mr. Deora lunched the preferred time LPG delivery scheme
In a big relief to working couples and single people living in metros the government has decided to deliver the domestic LPG cylinder at a preferred date and time. However, the customers, availing this facility will have to pay anything between Rs. 20 to 50 for this additional facility.
In the first phase the facility is made available to people living in seven metros and their satellite towns. These cities are: Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangluru, Hyderabad and Pune. The satellite towns include Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan, Mira Bhayander and Sonepat.
The government plans to extend this facility to all the ten lakh plus towns within six months and to the rest of country within a year.
The customers will have to go to the websites of respective companies i.e. www.indane.co.in, www.ebharatgas.com or www.hindustanpetroleum.com
They can also call a common toll free number applicable for all the public sector oil marketing companies for this purpose and register their request.
The number is: 18002333555 or 155233.
However, junior oil minister Jitin Prasad made it clear that the customer registering for this facility will have to wait for their turn. The additional payment will not give them any preference over ordinary customers.
He said that people not availing this facility will keep getting their LPG cylinder as per the existing rules and rates.
Petroleum minister Murli Deora launched this scheme in New Delhi on Tuesday. Junior oil minister Jitin Prasad and Petroleum secretary S. Sunderashan were also present on the occasion.
