Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has said that no decision should be taken in haste to alter the entrance examination patterns. He said that the issue needs to be debated thoroughly with all the stake holders before arriving at any conclusion.

Human Resource Development Ministry had in September announced abolition of compulsory CBSE Board exams for class 10th from the next academic year and introduction of grading system from current academic year.

Prime Minsiter along with his wife Gursharan Kaur was interacting with a group of children on the children's day on Saturday at 7 RCR.

Asked as to why education is getting costlier by the day, Singh said this is so only in private schools. In government schools, every effort is being made to ensure that education did not become a privilege for only the rich.

In response to a question on why Indians win Nobel Prizes only after they leave the country, the Prime Minister said that in our country there is little scope for the people to think out of box.
