'Give me blood and I will give you freedom'
Grateful nation today paid homage to legendary freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and founder of Indian National Army on his 113th birth anniversary. Various functions were being organised throughout the country to mark the day.
In West Bengal, the main function was held at Netaji's statue near Raj Bhawan. People gathered at Netaji's ancestral house in South Kolkata to show their gratitude the legendary freedom fighter.
West Bengal government asked that this day should be declared as patriotism day. Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee alleged that Central Government's thinking on Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose is not clear.
However, he admitted that Left Parties were wrong while evaluating the role of Netaji in the pre-independence period.
School children and activists celebrated the day in a befitting manner by organising several functions and donating blood across the country.
Do you think that in today's highly fractured and competitive politics the Parliament will, in near future, be able to function properly and constructively?
