NTPC to borrow US$ 3.4 billion for capital expenditure
India's premier public sector power generation company NTPC plans to borrow up to 70 percent of the total 180 billion rupees needed for its expansion plan in the next fiscal year.
A company official said that this fiscal the company's capital expenditure was 124 billion rupees. However, this year it is going to be at least 40 per cent higher. The official said that 750 MW of capacity was likely to be commissioned in the month of March alone. He added that power plants with capacity in excess of 18,000 MW were under various phases of construction in the country.
