NCL CMD and Coal India Director bags Geoscience Award for 2009

Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) Chairman-Cum- Managing Director V.K. Singh has bagged the prestigious Geoscience Award for the year 2009.
The award has been conferred on Singh by Vice President of India, Hamid Ansari on February 4, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, in recognition of his meritorious contribution in the file of Mining Technology.
The presentation ceremony was presided over by Dinsha J Patel, Minister of State, Mines (Independent charge). This award has been instituted by the Ministry of Mines, Government of India.

During his tenure, the company has achieved several landmarks in the field of production, productivity, environment, profit etc.
He has also won Life time achievement award for Overall Development of Coal Mining Industry for 2010 by The Indian Mining & Engineering Journal etc.
