Moderate to heavy polling is reported for assembly elections in Maharashtra, Haryana and Arunachal Pradesh. Election Commission of India has said on Tuesday that as per the initial estimates 70 per cent polling has taken place in border state of Arunachal Pradesh.
Around 65 per cents electorates have exercised their right in Haryana assembly election. Reports of violence are coming in from various parts in these three states.
In Haryana one political activist has died in due to political violence. In Maharashtra, Naxals have fired upon a patrol party and at a polling station in Naxal infested Gadhchiroli district.
1,222 candidates including 68 women were in the fray for the 90 seats of Haryana Assebmly.
And 65 per cent of the total one crore thirty one lakh electorates have cast their votes to decided the fate of Hudda government in the state.
Heavy to moderate voting has been reported from Maharashtra for 288 assembly seats. 3,559 candidates were in the fray, including 211 women.
The state's more than seven crore fifty eight lakh voters had a chance to decide the fate of these candidates on Tuesday.
In Arunachal Pradesh votes have been cast for only 57 seats out of the total 60 seats in the assembly. 3 candidates had been declared elected uncontested. Nearly 70 per cent of the state’s seven and a half lakh voters cast their votes to decide the fate of 154 candidates, including 8 women.
