5 policemen killed in the Naxal ambush
In Bihar, five police personnel were killed in a fierce encounter between Maoists and security forces in Lakhisarai district on Sunday. Local media reports say that the encounter took place at a hill top near Punadih village under Kajra police station of the district. Maoists looted arms from the possession of the slain police personnel.

Police suspect that some Maoists were also killed in this incident but rebels managed to carry away the bodies of slain Maoists.

Director General of Police Neelmani said that ten police personnel including three Sub Inspectors have not returned to the base camp. Additional Security forces have been sent to Lakhisarai from Patna.

Security forces have launched a massive combing operation to nab the Maoists.
