Manmohan Singh will attend the nuclear summit
Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh embarked on an official visit to the US to attend the Nuclear Security Summit on Saturday.

The US President Barack Obama is hosting this world summit on Nuclear Security. He had personally invited Prime Minister Dr. Singh to attend the summit during later's last visit to the US in November 2009.

Dr. Manmohan Singh would put forth Indian perspective before the world powers. He is expected to make a strong case for adopting a tough approach towards the known proliferators.

He would also call on world leaders to firmly deal with the challenge posed by the possibility of Nukes falling into terrorists’ hands.

During the eight-day visit, Dr. Singh will also visit Brazil to attend the Brazil-Russia-India-China (BRIC) and India-Brazil-South Africa (IBSA) Summits.

In the first leg of the tour, Singh will be in the US capital Washington DC for four days.

He will attend the two-day Nuclear Security Summit on 12th and 13th April and meet US President Barack Obama and some other world leaders.
