MTNL strike called off, services return to normal level
The two-day long strike by MTNL employees has been called off after the management agreed to resolve the issue of pay revision with the striking executives. Two day long strike has resulted in disruption of telephone service in Delhi and Mumbai.
MTNL CMD RSP Sinha informed the media, "The strike has been called off and all the issues have been resolved." He assured that MTNL services would be restored to near normal level by the evening.
V K Tomar, General Secretary of MTNL Executives Association said, "We have called off the strike. We had a word with the CMD who said the order of pay revision with five per cent fitment benefits has been withdrawn."
Strike called by 4,000 strong executives association of MTNL had severely disrupted essential telecom services in the city in past two days.
