Jet Airways pilots withdraw strike after the management agrees to reinstate sacked pilots
Jet pilots have decided to end their agitation last night after the management decided to reinstate four sacked pilots. The management also said that it has no objections to the existence of the pilots' union - National Aviation Guild.
A compromise was reached to this effect late in the night during the meeting between the Jet management and representatives of pilots in Mumbai.
Jet said in a statement, "The Chairman and Management of Jet Airways are pleased to convey that an amicable agreement has been arrived at, enabling the commencement of all domestic and international operations immediately, effective Sunday the 13th September."
The airline also said that it will operate their full schedule of services on all sectors with all crew reporting for their normal roster duties.
Jet chairman Naresh Goyal apologized to passengers for the inconvenience caused to them. He said, "I personally and sincerely convey my deepest apology to the airline's most valued customers for the inconveniences they have had to put up with over the past 5 days."
Jet Chairman Naresh Goyal also expressed his appreciation for the support extended by the state run Air India during the past few days.
