Govt. will develop Naxal affected areas: PM
The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh said on Saturday that the Centre will soon come up with an integrated plan to develop backward districts affected by the problem of Left Wing extremism. He said it will help strengthen development process in these areas in the fight against terrorism.

Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission Dr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia said the Commission is working on an integrated plan for the areas affected by Naxalism and it will be implemented in 35 districts. He informed the media that a commission has already been set up in this regard.

Dr. Singh said that a sub-committee to be chaired by Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy will examine the complex challenges of urbanization and submit its report within a year.
