Inflation in the country rose at the slowest rate in over three decades, at 0.44 per cent, for the week ended March 7, as most food and fuel items as well as some manufactured products became cheaper.

Inflation fell by 1.99 percentage points, from 2.43 per cent during the week ended February 28. Commerce Secretary G K Pillai said inflation is no longer an issue.
