Indian government advises pilgrims to avoid traveling to Pakistan

Union Government has issued an advisory on Tuesday for Indian pilgrims planning to travel to Pakistan due to deteriorating security situation in that country.

The Home Ministry said, "In view of deteriorating security situation the Government of India is of the view that it is not advisable for the Indian pilgrims to visit Pakistan."

Union Ministry of Home affairs further said, "The prevailing situation in Punjab province of Pakistan, where all the Gurudwaras (Sikh temples) are situated is not safe as it has experienced frequent terrorist attacks."

The ministry said, "Accordingly, the government advises all Indian citizens to avoid undertaking any visit to Pakistan for this purpose, till the security situation in Pakistan improves."
