NSA Shivshankar menon to discuss the issue with his counterpart Gen Janes Jomes
National Security Adviser Shivshankar Menon, who is accompanying the Prime Miniter Dr. Singh to his US visit, will push for direct access to David Coleman Headley, during his meeting with his US counterpart, Gen James Jones today.
Prime Minister Dr. Singh has already raised the issue during his 45 minute long meeting with the US President Barack Obama at the blare house.
US President Barack Obama has said that he supports India’s demand for full access to Headley and his administration is looking into legal provision regarding India’s request.
India is also expected to stress that Headley should be extradited to India.
David Coleman Headley has pleaded guilty, for all the twelve charges including his involvement in Mumbai terror attack and other terror attacks and has agreed to fully cooperate in any questioning by the foreign authorities on the US soil or through letters rogatory.
India has argued that the direct access to Headley is crucial for her to get to know the whole conspiracy behind the 26/11 attack.
