India to launch Israel built Spy satellite on April 20
India is planning to launch a new spy satellite to boost its intelligence gathering capabilities in the backdrop of recent Mumbai terror attack. The sattelite is being built by Israel and now it is undergoing final stages of testing and integration at the space port of Sriharikota.
The 300-kg radar imaging satellite is set to be launched on board the 230-tonne core-alone, home-grown rocket Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle without strap-on motors in view of the light weight of the payload.
Mainly it will keep a watch on movements on the borders to prevent infiltration and thwart any possible Mumbai like terrorist attack.
