The city which was shaken by the 26/11 terror attacks a year ago came out in full force today to express their solidarity against terrorism.

Exactly one year ago ten terrorists wielding AK-47 rifles and hand grenades held India's commercial capital for ransom. It was the worst attack on the city's people, its property and above all on its morale and secular character.

Today Mumbaikers went to work like any other day. However, they paused for a while at the places targeted by terrorists a year ago.

Various functions were organized to mark the spirit of Mumbai. Security forces took out a parade from Hotel Trident to Girgaum Chowpatty to instill confidence in people.

The Commandos of Mumbai Police's new anti terror squad ‘Force One’ also took part in the parade. Force One is modeled on the line of NSG. They also showcased newly acquired weapons and bullet proof vehicles acquired by the police after attack.

Home Minister P. Chidambram unveiled a memorial erected in the honour of 18 security personnel, including NSG's Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who died fighting terrorists.

People also showed that they had not forgiven or forgotten the attacks by lighting candles in the memory of martyrs and participating in various events organized by citizen forums and non-governmental organizations.

Blood donation camps were also organized in the city to spread the message of humanity.

Political parties across the board today paid homage to the victims of Mumbai carnage saluting the valor and fortitude of people and security forces that fought the terrorists in Mumbai a year ago.
