India needs 10 billion US Dollar for highways: Kamal Nath
Road Transport and Highways Minister Kamal Nath has said India would need an investment of $10 billion over the next two-years for constructing roads and highways.
Nath disclosed this while talking to the news persons on the sidelines of a function in Mumbai on Wednesday. The minister said investment both domestically as well as from overseas would be required for this.
The government has prepared a programme for constructing 20 km of roads every day, translating into 7,000 km over the next few years, he said.
This year, we will do 3,000 km of roads and highways, Nath said, adding that this is a historic step.
