India handed over three dossiers to Pak: Nirupama Rao
After the day long talks with her Pakistani counter part, India's foreign secretary Ms. Nirupama Rao told the reporters that India has handed over three new dossiers to Pakistan on Thursday.
Ms. Nirupama Rao said, "India has handed over three dossiers to Pakistan -- one on involvement of certain individuals in 26/11 attacks, second on threats issued by terrorist Illyas Kashmiri and the third on fugitives from Indian law in Pakistan."
Sources say that these dossiers contain the name of 34 terrorists wanted by India. The list also includes the name of LeT Chief Hafiz Sayeed.
India officials demanded that these people should be handed over to India. India also asked Pakistan to take effective actions against terrorists operating from that country.
Ms. Rao said that India also raised the issues concerning 26/11 attack and recent bomb attack in Pune in this meeting.
She said that these talks were aimed at ending the chill in bilateral ties. India told Pakistan that the trust and confidence should be restored.
India told Pakistan that the trust had been erased by Mumbai attacks and Pune attack is yet another reminder that Indian citizens remain vulnerable to terrorist violence.
India also raised the issue of the beheading of a Sikh by Taliban in Pakistan's North-West Frontier Province last week.
Ms. Rao said that Pakistan raised the issue of India's involvement in Balochistan but offered no evidence for it.
Indian foreign secretary said after the talks that both the parties agreed to remain in touch.
