India has condemned North Korean nuclear test calling them 'Unfortunate' and violation of the county's international commitments.

India's new external minister SM Krishna said, "we have seen the reports that DPRK has conducted a nuclear test on May 25, 2009. It would be unfortunate and violation of its international commitment. Like other countries we are also worried about its adverse impact on the peace and stability in the region. We would continue to monitor the situation."

Defence Minister Mr. A K Antony also expressed concern over the test. He was talking to reporters soon after taking the charge of the Defence Ministry for a second term.

He said, India is against nuclear proliferation.
