Income Tax official quizzed Lalit Modi for 8 hours
Income tax officials asked Lalit Modi about the financial dealings and share holding pattern of this super rich cricketing body.
They reached Lalit Modi's office at Nirlon house in upmarket Worli area on Thursday evening. The questioning of Lalit Modi started at 7.15 pm on Thursday evening and continued till 3.20 am on Saturday morning.
Income Tax officers also visited IPL's head office located in Mumbai's Wankhede stadium and several other places.
Lalit Modi told reporters that Income tax officers wanted to know about details pertaining to the bidding process and they were provided documents related with the process.
Modi said the officials scrutinized the documents related to the two newly sold Sahara and Kochi teams and that of other IPL teams as well.
Sources say the team looked into the various funding aspects of IPL teams and also probed whether any black or foreign money is involved in the league or not.
However, Lalit Mode denied the media reports that claimed that his laptop was seized and some unaccounted cash was recovered from his office.
