Martyrs Day march foiled, Curfew reimposed
In Kashmir valley calm prevailed on Tuesday and security forces able to foil the proposed march of various factions of Hurriyat on the occasion of martyrs' day.

Local media reported that the authorities had deployed security forces and police in large numbers in Srinagar and other main towns. Movement of the people was restricted by restrictions under section 144.

Normal life was disrupted in various parts of the Kashmir valley due to shutdown as authorities re-imposed curfew in Sopore town and Batamalo area in Srinagar city.

The state Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and other leaders of main stream party's visited Martyrs grave yard in the interior city and paid tributes to those who had laid down their lives on this day against the dogra rule in 1931.
