Gujarat HC asks Nanawati Commission to clarify its stand on questioning Narendra Modi

In a related development,the Gujarat High Court has asked the Nanavati Commission to clarify by April 1 whether it will summon Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for questioning in the matter or not. The commission is probing the 2002 riot cases.
A division bench of Chief Justice SJ Mukhopadhaya and Justice Akil Kureshi sought this information from the government prosecutor while hearing an appeal by Jan Sangarsh Manch (JSM).
Nanavati Commission, in September last year had said that it did not find justification in cross-examining the Chief Minister.
