Govt. urges automobile industry to boost production
The government has urged the automobile industry to enhance its productivity and quality to compete with the global challenge in this sector.
Addressing the conference on 'Challenges and prospects for Indian automotive Industry' in New Delhi on Tuesday, the Additional Secretary of the Department of Heavy Industry, Dr. Surajit Mitra said that the industry should not focus on subsidies and fiscal incentives, but should concentrate on long term objectives to turn the challenges into opportunities.
He said India has become a favourite destination for automobile manufacturers due to its technological manpower availability.
