Govt. likely to table Women's Reservation Bill in Lok Sabha next week: Veerappa Moily

The bill may be tabled on March 15 or 16
Law Minister Veerappa Moily said that the Women's Reservation Bill may be moved in the Lok Sabha the next week. However, he clarified that a final decision in this regard will be taken by the Business Advisory Committee which meets on Friday.

The Law Minister expressed confidence that the bill will be passed in the lower house smoothly. He said that the bill could be tabled on March 15 or 16.

The bill provides for 33 per cent reservation for women in Lok Sabha and state assemblies and it was passed by the required majority of the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.

Mr Moily said the government wants to get the finance and some other bills passed before moving the women's reservation bill in the lower house.
