Foreign military aircraft forced to land at Mumbai
A military cargo aircraft An-124 of Russian origin carrying ammunition and five persons on board intruded into Indian airspace on Friday night and landed at the Mumbai international airport.
IAF Public Relations Officer Wing Commander T.K. Singha said that the plane, which entered the Indian airspace, did not have the permission to fly over the Indian airspace. The plane was then asked to land at the Mumbai airport which the aircraft did.
Singha described the earlier reports that the plane was escorted by Indian Air Force planes up to the airport not true.
IAF officials and central intelligence sleuths are questioning the people on board the aircraft.
