Foreign Minister leaves for Phuket tonight to attend ASEAN meet
India's External Affairs Minister, Mr. S.M.Krishna is leaving tonight for Phuket in Thiland to attend the India-ASEAN, East Asia Summit EAS, and ASEAN Regional Forum Ministerial meetings.
At the India-ASEAN ministerial meeting, future direction and exchange of views on regional and international issues will be reviewed, the EAS Ministerial meeting will also focus on regional and international issues. The ARF which is the premier dialogue forum on Security issues in Asia Pacific region will deliberate on issues related to terrorism Maritime security and disaster management.
Apart from confidence building measures traditional security concerns will also come up for discussions. Our correspondent says that Mr. S.M.Krishna is also expected to hold bilateral discussions with the Foreign Minister of Thailand as well as his counterparts from other participating member countries.
