Four railway employees suspended after Tundla accident

In a strong message to lax officials the Railway Ministry has decided to suspend four of its employees following Saturday's accident at Tundla station on New Delhi-Kanpur route.
The suspended personnel include Divisional Railway Manager, Allahabad Division SK Aggarwal, Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer, Northern Railway, Vineet Singh and two drivers of the Kalindi Express.
The Commissioner of Railway Safety, North-Eastern Circle, Lucknow, P K Vajpayee will conduct an inquiry into the mishap.
Three passengers were killed and 27 injured when Kanpur-bound 2724 Kalindi Express rammed into the stationary Shram Shakti Express. The injured included the driver and assistant driver of the Kalindi Express and the guard of the Shram Shakti Express.
Rail Ministry has issued new guidelines regarding the operational safety during the foggy season. The ministry urged all zonal railways to be extra vigilant during the peak winter operation.
Kanpur-bound 2724 Kalindi Express on Saturday rammed into the stationary Shram Shakti Express at the outer signal of Tundla station on the busy Delhi-Howrah route at around 8.15 in the morning.
