5 policemen killed in a blast triggered by Maoists
In Jharkhand, five policemen were killed and as many injured in a Maoists attack in Latehar district on Friday.
Official sources said that the incident occurred at Kutmu More area, when the vehicle of the security forces, who were returning from patrolling, drove over the landmine laid by the rebels.
While five policemen died on the spot, the injured were rushed to a hospital in Medininagar, the headquarter town of Palamau. Latehar SP Kuldeep Dewedi had a narrow escape as the explosive went off minutes after his car passed the path.
