Festival of Christmas celebrated across the country

Christmas is being celebrated across the country and the world today. Followers of Christianity celebrate the festival with passion to mark the birth of Jesus Christ over two thousand years ago.
Large number of Christians attended special midnight mass and services at various churches across the country. They braved bitter cold in NCR and Delhi to attend mid night mass and prayers.
Carol singers also visited homes with the good news of the birth of Jesus of Nazareth at Bethlehem.
The President, the Vice President and the Prime Minister have greeted the people on this occasion.
President Pratibha Patil said that the festival of Christmas reminds us the message of Jesus Christ to promote peace, unity and harmony in the society.
Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh said that the spirit of Christmas strengthens the values of brotherhood, tolerance and caring.
In Mumbai scores of Christians have gathered in areas like Colaba, Mazagaon, Parel, Bandra, Khar and Santacruz.
They wore traditional clothes with festive looks. They decorated their attire with lanterns, colourful lights and other things. Soon after the mass followers of Jesus Christ greeted their relatives and friends.
