Euro-4 Fuel in 13 cities from the 1st April
Government has hinted that it may lead to a moderate rise in the Petrol price in these cities.
Oil Secretary S. Sundareshan said that Petrol price in cities like Delhi and Mumbai may go up by 41 paise per litre and diesel by 26 paise a litre from April one.
Petroleum Secretary said that Oil marketing firms will sell ultra-low Sulphur petrol and diesel in major urban cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad from April one.
However, he said that Euro-3 grade fuel will be supplied in the rest of the country.
Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Murli Deora said that the citizens of Delhi and the NCR will get environment friendly fuel of international standards.
Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has termed the introduction of cleaner Euro-IV fuel in 13 cities from April 1 as a historic event. She said that the step will help the city to reduce the pollution and in making of a world class city.
